Our pliers look a lot like those that are used for plastic snaps, but it has been redesigned for setting metal hardware/fasteners. Our press has a smaller profile so it fits nicely in hand. It is easy to press, and even better - it allows for interchangeable dies to accommodate the type and size fastener you are working with.
What Comes With The Pliers
Your pliers will come with 2.5mm hole punch dies, a mini screwdriver, and an awl (for making holes in more delicate fabrics that you would like to avoid punching holes in because the fabric unravels easily). You can purchase additional dies separately for your choice of spring snaps or magnetic snap rivets.
Video Tutorials
The videos below demonstrate how to install the 2.5mm hole punch dies, 12.5mm spring snap dies, and 14mm magnetic snap rivet dies in the pliers. You will also find instructions for using the pliers to set both types of snaps. Please keep in mind that the thickness of your materials will make difference in how snug your snaps will fit. If the materials are to thick for the snap's post length, the snap might come apart. If the materials are too thin, the snap will appear/feel loose (and it could bend while setting). This is true for for any snaps/rivets - even if using basic hand tools. For proper results, you need to choose a snap with the appropriate post length for the thickness of the materials used.

Installing 14mm Magnetic Snap Rivets
Click the video below to watch as we install 14mm magnetic snap rivet dies in the pliers and as we use the pliers to set magnetic snap rivets in leather. Again, be mindful of the thickness of materials. This snap style tends to have a longer post length, so you might need to reinforce your materials to fill in some extra space. We recommend testing a snap using scraps first.
